Community Based Rural Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene Education: Implementation Manual

Abstract

The Community based rural water supply, sanitation and hygiene education implementation manual is part of two other documents that complement each other - the main document, which is divided into two sector and the technical design manual. This implementation manual is expected to harmonize efforts by different donor and implementing agencies in the development of the sector. The objectives of these documents are to assist the different players in a) ensuring that policy, technical specifications and quality are adhered to. b) training and capacity building at different levels c) community mobilisation d) effective community monitoring and evaluation of the sector. This will ensure that all players in the sector will have guiding principles in order to achieve the Government of Malawi's objective of provisions of sustainable water services to the rural communities.
