Use of ICT in Science and Engineering: A Case of University of Malawi

Abstract

This paper discusses the status and use of ICT in higher education (tertiary level) in Malawi and discusses the challenges so that we learn from the achievements so far in the presence of these challenges in order to map the way forward. The paper starts by describing the higher education situation in Malawi, then reviews current status of ICT in Malawi in general and ICT in Science and Engineering in the context of higher education, particularly in the University of Malawi. Following which the challenges are discussed and this is followed by suggestions on the strategies and methods that may address the gaps considering the challenges.
